Good preparation is what separates a quick, clean paint job from a stressful one. The good news: most of the heavy lifting is ours. Here's what helps before we arrive — and exactly what we handle once we're there.
A quick checklist before we arrive
- Clear small items. Take down wall art, photos, mirrors and anything on the walls in the rooms we're painting.
- Pack up valuables & breakables. Remove fragile or sentimental items from shelves and surfaces.
- Make space to move furniture. We'll move and cover larger pieces — clearing a path and emptying surfaces helps.
- Note any problem spots. Point out stains, cracks, water marks or past repairs so we can address them.
- Plan for pets & little ones. A quiet spot away from the work keeps everyone safe and comfortable.
- Pick your colors (or ask us). Have your colors and finishes ready — or talk them through with us at the estimate.
What we handle for you
You don't need to prep the walls themselves — that's our job. Once we're on-site, we:
- Move and cover remaining furniture and protect floors and fixtures.
- Clean surfaces, then patch, sand and caulk where needed.
- Prime bare or repaired areas so the finish is even and durable.
- Mask off trim, outlets and edges for crisp, professional lines.
- Clean up completely and walk the finished space with you.
Short on time? Just tell us at the estimate — we can handle more of the prep ourselves so the project fits your schedule.
